I have certainly questions about life, about faith, about anything & everything that would come unto my mind. So do you. One thing i am so sure of, you don't have answers to all your questions just as i do. I came across a man. He said He believes not in God for all the bad things happening in the whole world. He's kinda implying, he had all the questions & thought of it thoroughly to come to a conviction that now he is holding. I say christians think not less about anything & everything. To assume, that only those who don't believe in God are thinking is to assume that only a selected few can think. This is just not true since we all have been given by God the ability to think.
Load of questions came into my mind and all of them lead me to one answer. Jesus is the answer to all my questions. There were those times where i am pulled away from faith in Him. Many of which are triggered from my many questions. I asked for example what about those who haven't heard of the gospel? I won't go far by taking the whole world into the picture. My father died while i was 3 y.o. If it did bother me that he probably ends up in hell? A big yes. God does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked. Why should i? We're like vapors. We're here today and are gone tommorow. It bothered me so much & it led me to further question and doubt God's love. Now there is hell & many people mocked about it. Many have came out with doctrines making hell appears to be something not to be really worried about. Like as to the span of it, some said the punishment is not gonna last forever. One says, then hell must be so crowded now. Some think there is no hell at all, only heaven. Some would say, there is a party in hell. Others would say since engineers, firemen & all those scientists & all other intellectuals will land there, they are gonna build a huge architectures & fires will be demolished because of firemen. Just a thought, firemen don't cease the fire, water does. There is everything but life in hell. Metaphors & descriptions in the bible about hell talk about horrible things. How much more horrible is the real thing? No, i'm not scaring you. If the story ends here, there's absolutely no hope for us. But it doesn't. I love my father just as almost all of us do love our fathers. As to his chosen eternity, in as much as it grieved me he did make a choice. God has written the laws in our hearts. We have conscience. Read Romans 2:15 & Romans 1. When we stand before God, we have no excuse whatsoever. We will all stand before a Holy God on the judgment day. All of us have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Of course, we can be sorry but does being sorry can make a righteous judge set us free? We have broken God's laws. Imagine a judge who sets a child molester free because the offender is sorry, would you think the judge is just? Of course, he's not. We say, we are not all those huge criminals so we are not in trouble. In God's perfect and holy Law we all come short. We know His commandments, we shall not bear false witness (shall not lie), shall not steal, shall not commit adultery, shall not use His name in vain & so on. Jesus said if you look to a woman/man with lust you commit adultery at heart. Hating someone is already seen as murder by God. This is how high God's standards are. If we based it on the standards of this world, we might look clean. But we sin against a Holy & an infinite God. The judgment is as well eternal. So How many times have you told a lie in your whole life? Have you stolen anything regardless of its value? Have you used God's name in vain like, o.m.g? Have you looked at a man/woman & lusts at her? When we are honest, we all do have told lies, stolen something & are adulterous at hearts. So we really have big troubles on the judgment day. I have read of a testimony of Mr. Ray Comfort. He relayed his experience where he tried to make a shortcut by driving through a one way lane. The police officer has caught his act & as he was confronted by it & asked why he did that. He could give no reason or whatsoever. The police officer has not sanctioned him for that but has given him grace instead. What we always tend to do is to make justifications for our sins. Like we tend to say, we are not that much of a sinner like them. They are worse than i am. Certainly, if we reason like that to a police officer who caught our act of breaking the law, we'll get what we deserve. When we stand before God, our mouths will be shut. There is no justification possible for we know the truth. What we do now is to suppress truth because we love the fleeting pleasures of sins. Another picture for you to ponder upon. Let's say you were wild when you were in your youth. Later on, you have slowed down, tried to make things better & differently. Then you die. You'll face God & you're pretty confident you are on the right track. Forget about the good will outweigh the bad. Certainly, criminals have their share of "nice" traits but it is their crime act that make them guilty. For that they will stand accountable. So, are we. The bad news is, We are all guilty before God. We all deserve hell. Romans 3:23 Does it bother you? It should because life is precious. You won't sell your eyes for million dollars, will you? Absolutely not. God does not will that we'll perish. There is a good news. Jesus has paid the fine of our sins. Through His death on the cross he can legally dismiss our case. God in His loving mercy has provided us a Savior! All we've got to do is to repent (turn away from our sin) & put our trust in Him. Like putting a trust in a parachute, we don't put a trust on our ability to fly. John 3:16 for God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life. He rose from the dead & so He defeated death. If you have never repented & put your trust on Jesus for your salvation, please do it today. Please think about it. Tomorrow may come no more. If you have a bible at home, please read it. You cannot earn eternal life. It is God's gift to those who humble themselves before God and to those who come to Jesus. He will forgive your sins and He will give you a new heart. 2 Corinthians 5:17
